DemBiz Presents: Congresswoman-Elect Jennifer McClellan

DemBiz is proud to welcome Congresswoman-Elect Jennifer McClellan as part of our Signature Speaker Series. Please join us as we will sit down with our newly minted Congresswoman and touch on topics such as Voting Rights, Racial Equity, and her historical election as the first African-American woman to the United States House of Representatives from the state of Virginia.

Congresswoman-Elect McClellan was elected to the House of Delegates representing Richmond in 2005. She has served in the Senate since 2017, and serves as Vice Chair of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus. She has also been a leader in addressing Virginia’s painful history of racial inequity. As Chair of the Virginia Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Commission, McClellan promotes Dr. King’s legacy and continues his work, particularly racial healing, economic and social justice, and community engagement.

Senator McClellan lives in Richmond with her husband, David Mills, and their two children, Jackson and Samantha.
