James Walkinshaw is the Democratic Nominee for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District and currently serves on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, representing the Braddock District. He previously served as Chief of Staff to the late Congressman Gerry Connolly for over a decade, where he helped pass the Affordable Care Act, secure federal funding for Fairfax County, and advance climate and environmental policy.

On the Board of Supervisors, he has led efforts to ban guns from public spaces, improve pay and benefits for working families, expand rail service, and protect the local environment. He leads the Board’s Legislative and Environmental Committees and serves as Chair of the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board.”
