As part of our Signature Breakfast Series, DemBiz welcomes Commonwealth’s Attorneys Buta Biberaj and Parisa Dehghani-Tafti to Refraction in Valo Park on Friday, September 23rd for a Criminal Justice Forum.

As Commonwealth’s Attorney, Buta has ensured that justice is delivered fairly to all members of the Loudoun community and that her office manages resources wisely, benefiting all community members. Prior to her election in 2019, Buta practiced as a defense attorney in Loudoun County for over 25 years and as a substitute judge for over 11 years. A longstanding Loudoun County Bar Association (LCBA) member, Buta served as President for the 2014-2015 term.

Parisa Dehghani-Tafti is the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Arlington County and the City of Falls Church. Parisa was first elected to a four-year term in November 2019. She came to the office with a twenty-year record of criminal justice reform as an innocence protection attorney, a public defender, and a law professor. Prior to being elected Commonwealth’s Attorney, Parisa served as an innocence protection attorney representing innocent individuals in DC, Virginia, and Maryland incarcerated for crimes they did not commit.

Please note: Masks will not be required for those who show proof of the COVID-19 vaccine at the event. For guests that do not bring a physical or digital copy of their vaccine card, masks will be required (except when drinking). Policy is subject to change based on current public health conditions.
